We are very proud to announce that today we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Tripod Mobility. In 1980 two friends Mello and Karel decided to start a new business in converting cars for people with a disability, named Tripod Vervoerstechniek. They started in the yard of Mello’s brother with a Peugeot J9 and J5. As the business expanded they moved to a workshop in Nuenen and they hired mechanics to fulfill the growing orders. In that time a system was designed for the 1100 Fourgenette of Simca. This system was the first WAV conversion as we still produce them now a days. Up to the 90’s only for local Dutch market but later expanding the international market with WAV kits. Later Karel left the company and Mello’s sons Paul and Hans joined and now run the company.
Today we are a thriving business. Still very strong in the Dutch market where we convert for individual customers and companies alike. We convert cars in our own workshop coming from all over Europe. We also produce WAV kits that are shipped internationally to European, South Africa and even Australian dealers.
Every day we are looking for new opportunities to expand our business and to help people getting on their way with our products all over the world.
